Having been a member since about 1984, I have found it to be very important to me. This is a respectful intelligent group to socialize with. I believe that the support we have given each other has helped each of us to deal with our lives and work more confidently. It has shown us how to have a healthy mental attitude as we work in the legal community. Each month we have dinner, a meeting, and a program at a variety of restaurants. The individual people make the experience the best, because there's always someone there to talk with about personal difficulties you may be having or share good times. Even as we share ourselves and our lives with each other, the integrity and confidentiality of each lawyer's or county office is maintained. We have great respect for the privacy of these offices and yet there's someone we know in areas such as the courthouse, police offices, and in my case, court reporting. This diversity of office personnel has also helped as we reach out to the community through the Shop With a Cop program - (Providing a Christmas celebration and shopping for the children who are eligible.) In the midst of all these benefits, it is always great to know that you can customize your involvement to fit YOUR NEEDS. If there's a time in your life where you wish to pursue the Private Legal Secretary certification, you can have this distinguished title on your resume. Many employers will help you with your dues, and our group's fundraising often helps with the dues' cost, also.
